At the recommendation of our Governor and Mayor, Holy Trinity Montessori is currently closed along with all other schools in Tennessee in an effort to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Our teachers, students, and families have pivoted overnight to transition to at-home learning for the duration of the semester. Although none of us could have predicted this turn of events, we are proud of our school community for adapting to this situation and for rising to meet the challenge of teaching and learning in a new way.
During this time, our goal is to provide home-based curriculum which offers a continuation of the learning that has taken place in our classrooms up to this point for all students in Kindergarten through Middle School. We hope our students experience as much consistency as possible and feel as sense of purpose as they finish out the year. Our teachers have created educational packets tailored to meet the specific developmental needs of each student and have worked tirelessly to provide many other learning opportunities through technology, such as virtual classes, online group meetings, virtual field trips, and one-on-one check-ins with their students.
Additionally, our teachers have contributed lists of further ideas to bring the Montessori experience home. These supplemental resources can help establish a consistent rhythm in the home and may be helpful to parents of children of all ages. We have included them below.
